Our story

📸 April 2023 | Macho, Eliana, Elias, & Erica

Macho & Erica have been married since 2007. Macho studied Pastoral Ministry, and Erica studied Youth and Family Studies.

While Macho has felt a call to the pastorate since his teenage years, it wouldn’t be until 2017 - after serving in different churches in several states - that both he and Erica began to sense a specific call to church planting ministry.

They took a few additional years of in-depth preparation and begun cultivating a small community where they lived in Brooklyn when Covid-19 happened and their plans were put on pause.

A door opened at the end of 2020 to relocate and join an existing ministry in West Queens where they served in various capacities for 1.5 years at which time they transitioned back into the call God had placed on their lives.

Now, living in the Sunnyside neighborhood in West Queens, NY, Macho & Erica (and their kids Eliana & Elias) are leading The Table NYC: a church that cultivates spaces where strangers become friends, friends become family, and where God’s love can be experienced - with a vision of a diverse community that is being discipled to live the ways of Jesus, empowered to love our neighbors, and equipped to live on mission in the places where we live & work.

Macho works as a Technology Instructor at Year Up - a nonprofit organization working to close the opportunity divide by providing learning and internship opportunities for young adults.

Erica is the Area Director for West Queens as well as Regional Trainer for new staff in the NYCLI region of Young Life; an organization who’s mission is to introduce adolescents to Christ and help them grow in their faith.
